A sweet story!
I'm admittedly biased because I've known Jayden since she was a baby, but I'm also honest with my reviews and wouldn't write about it at all if I didn't absolutely love it. This is an adorable story about a self-conscious girl with a birth mark who tries to hide it for fear of standing out as being different, something I believe we have all related to at some point in our lives and something young kids often struggle with when they begin school. After meeting a boy in her class who also looks different from other kids, she realizes her uniqueness should be celebrated, not hidden, and learns to love who she is exactly as she is. It's a great message for all children to hear - those who struggle to accept themselves despite their differences and those who struggle to accept others for their differences. My youngest is a year older than the author but I have purchased her book to keep along with the other beloved children books I read over and over to my kids when they were little and hope to read to my future grandchildren someday.
We all need more stories about acceptance and celebrations about makes us unique, and this book gives us that!
